Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This policy explains what Gussy ("we", "us") does with your information. Gussy is provided by Victor Cedervall, a sole proprietorship (enskild firma) (org. no. 060326-5810), Sommarbovägen 12, 246 32 Löddeköpinge, Sweden. We are the data controller. Contact: support@gussyai.com.
The short version
- There is no sign-up in the app. We don't ask for your name, phone number or location. The only email we ever hold is one you choose to leave on our website's launch list.
- Film looks and editing happen on your device. Those photos never leave it.
- When you create an AI effect, the photo you choose is sent to Google's Gemini AI to generate your result. We don't store it on our servers.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites and we don't show ads.
What we collect and why
| Information | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| The photo you pick for an AI effect, and the generated result | To create your result | Sent through our server to Google's Gemini API and returned to your device. We don't keep a copy. Google may keep a copy for a limited time to detect abuse and does not use it to improve its products (paid API terms). |
| A random anonymous ID created when you first open the app | To apply usage limits, link your purchase to your device and help with support | Supabase (our backend, hosted in the EU) and RevenueCat |
| A record of each AI creation: which effect and when (never the photo) | To prevent abuse and keep the service fast for everyone | Supabase |
| Your credit balance, kept against your subscription (not your name) | To give you the credits your plan includes and count the ones you use | Supabase |
| Reports you send about a result: effect and reason (never the photo) | To improve safety and quality | Supabase |
| Purchase and subscription status | To unlock Gussy Pro and Max | Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your payment details. |
| Your email address, if you join the launch list on our website | To send you one message when Gussy is available in the App Store | Supabase. We delete the address once we've sent the launch message, or sooner if you ask us at support@gussyai.com. |
| Technical data such as IP address and device type in server logs | Security, debugging and abuse prevention | Our infrastructure providers |
Photos you save are stored on your device (and in your Photos library if you choose Save). Delete them at any time inside the app or in Photos.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Consent for sending your photo to our AI provider. You give it in the app before your first creation, and you can stop by not using AI effects.
- Contract to provide the app and your subscription.
- Consent for the launch list. You give it by submitting your email on the website, and you can withdraw it at any time by writing to us.
- Legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and preventing abuse.
Who we share data with
- Google (Gemini API) processes photos for AI effects.
- Supabase hosts our backend and database.
- RevenueCat manages subscriptions.
- Apple handles App Store purchases.
These providers act on our instructions under data processing agreements. We do not sell your data.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA, for example in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Photos: not stored by us. Google may keep a copy for a limited time to detect abuse.
- Usage records and reports: until you delete your data in the app, or until 12 months after your last use.
- Credit records are tied to your subscription rather than to you and stay after you delete your data, so that deleting and re-creating your data can't refill credits. They contain no photo, name or contact information.
- Launch list email: until we've sent the launch message, or until you ask us to remove it.
- Purchase records: as required by accounting rules and by Apple and RevenueCat.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive a copy. The quickest way to delete is Settings → Delete my data in the app. Because we don't know who you are, we may ask for your Support ID (Settings, bottom of the screen) to find your records. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se).
Children
Gussy is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll update the date above and, where required, tell you in the app.
